I understand, I too am still making due the best I can with an older rig. There's a DDR4 version of this card that is slightly cheaper in price but considerably inferior in performance. I guess savings on electric bills is good enough!
The fan blade strike is painful and may cut the skin - on this note, the fan blades are relatively sharp! Doesn't make sense why would they make the fan blades with sharp corners and sharp edges! So don't examine the heatsink while it's running. Inno3D's version has the fan sticking out on top. The sharp spots on the metal slot frame is invisible so be careful! The metal slot frame and PCB board have sharp and pointy edges, don't run it on your skin. On a positive note, year 2002 to 2010 alternative rock music sounds great on it.
But it didn't sound like that before with the GTX 550 Ti. Some people might like it better or it's probably the Samsung Dolby feature. HD audio makes music sound like an outdoor concert or live performance. Produces a lot less heat, whole computer makes a lot less heat! Even when running X-Plane, exhaust coming from the case is close to ambient!! This would actually save you significantly from energy expenses if you also use airconditioning. Much better FPS in X-Plane at UHD resolution I think it's a massive improvement over my old GTX 550 ti!!! I use a 43" Samsung 4K TV as PC monitor for X-Plane and work (big spreadsheets) I did it primarily to have 4k (UHD) desktop resolution at 60 hz. Just click the General tab, and on the right you’ll see a checklist for everything required to run – see the My Rig and Features drop-down lists.I just upgraded my old GTX 550 ti 1GB with GT 1030 2GB. The good news is that you don’t have to do anything special or even leave the application to check things out. If GeForce Experience is not recording, it’s good practice to check and see if your system is up to speed and compatible. To run the GeForce Experience application correctly, your system must meet the minimum requirements.
